EUROBIKE AWARD

Lighter, faster, safer, more comfortable – bicycle manufacturers are doing everything they possibly can to make riding a bicycle increasingly attractive.

E-bikes have now become standard, a common sight on the streets, the trendy thing to do in the industry. The real trick, however, is to “disguise” the electric motors so that they are no longer so obvious at first glance. The aim is to reach new target groups, to create new markets for the huge, No. 1 topic in the bicycle industry. Whether it’s a folding bike, a city bike or a crossover, a cool hybrid that’s part mountain bike and part racing bike: many manufacturers are already offering a first taste of what they are able to do as far as “invisible” pedelecs and e-bikes are concerned. More finely differentiated types of bikes with increasingly elaborate drive systems will follow.

The demands made on material and safety components on bicycles – and on the parts industry as well – are also growing rapidly. Steel handlebars – now with extremely high resistance to breakage – are celebrating a real comeback. The quality of the braking systems is also on the rise. Hydraulic disk brakes, already obligatory on mountain bikes, offer first-class braking characteristics, usually with outstanding control. It’s only a question of time before they will be used on everyday bikes as well.

But how can you separate the wheat from the chaff? How does a cyclist know which product is best? The EUROBIKE AWARD, which is already being held for the seventh time this year, provides the retail trade as well as consumers with an endorsement of good design and a sense of orientation on a widely diverse market. It reveals what is innovative and functional as well as environmentally compatible and sustainable. This award has developed into an outstanding marketing instrument for the bicycle industry.

The EUROBIKE GREEN AWARD – an award for a product with particularly high ecological and sustainable value – is being presented for the fourth time this year.

We, Messe Friedrichshafen as the host of this innovative award for the bicycle industry and iF as the organizer, look forward to receiving your entries!
